Dr. Cayla Leung
(she/her/hers)
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Cayla Leung is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who specializes in helping people navigate the complex intersection of cultural identity, family expectations, and personal authenticity. She works with individuals who feel caught between different worlds—honoring their heritage while building the life they want for themselves.
With extensive experience in college mental health and work with diverse populations, Dr. Leung has become known for creating a safe space where clients can unpack relational dynamics, process difficult emotions, and find their own path forward without judgment.

What Makes Dr. Leung's Approach Different
Many clients come to Dr. Leung feeling stuck between competing expectations—family traditions versus personal values, cultural norms versus individual desires, or the pressure to succeed while struggling
internally. Her empathic style creates safety to explore these tensions and work through the discomfort of past and present life stressors.

Dr. Leung uses an integrative therapeutic approach, primarily drawing on dialectical-behavioral and relational interventions within multicultural and feminist frameworks. She helps clients identify what they want to accept in their lives and what they want to change, then provides the support and practical techniques to make it happen.

As a Chinese-American woman, Dr. Leung understands firsthand the experience of navigating multiple cultural identities. She prioritizes recognizing the intersectional identities of each client so they can exist authentically while understanding sociocultural systems of privilege and oppression that shape their experiences.
