MEET CRISTI
Cristi Baskett, MA, NCC
(she/her/hers)
Pre-Licensed Therapist
Cristi Baskett is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and pre-licensed clinician who helps adults and young adults who feel disconnected from themselves — stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of their next step — reconnect with who they are beneath the weight of expectation. She works with people carrying the residue of past experiences, relationships, and messages they've absorbed about who they're supposed to be, helping them hear their own voice again.
She is known for creating a space that feels unhurried and genuinely non-judgmental, where clients don't need to arrive with answers already figured out. Cristi believes healing begins when people can slow down, get curious about their own story, and start making choices that feel authentic — rather than shaped entirely by outside expectation.
What Makes Cristi's Approach Different
Clients come to Cristi feeling pulled in directions that don't feel like their own — navigating a life transition, questioning their identity, managing anxiety or stress, or working through the lingering effects of a difficult experience or relationship. Over time, it can be hard to tell which voice is truly theirs and which is inherited from someone else's expectations.
Cristi uses an integrative, person-centered approach grounded in humanistic and strengths-based principles, and informed by a liberation-oriented, trauma-informed lens that recognizes how identity, culture, and lived experience shape a person's story. She draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Internal Family Systems (Parts Work) to help clients understand the different parts of themselves, build self-trust, and move toward a life that feels aligned rather than performed.
Cristi has particular expertise supporting Black mental health, racial trauma, and the identity questions that come with navigating adulthood in a fast-changing world, insight she draws on both as a clinician and as a Black millennial woman.
